Aatul Jain, Chef Owner
Born in India to a family of entrepreneurs, Aatul Jain always had a curiosity about what was happening
in the kitchen. At the age of nine, his recipe for cookies was published in a statewide newspaper and
his career begun. While his siblings opted for engineering and medical schools across the nation,
Aatul pursued his passion for food via a hotel management degree. After school, Chef Aatul cooked at
restaurants in Indian culinary stalwarts like the Taj Group of hotels and Welcomgroup-Sheraton Hotels,
strengthening his foundation in Indian and continental cuisines.
To widen his knowledge of the culinary arts, he joined the Culinary Institute Of America, NY. Upon
graduating with top honors, Aatul briefly trained at Les Pinasse under Chef Gray Kunz and went on to
work with renowned culinarians Marcus Samuelsson, Floyd Cardoz, Eric Ripert, and Suvir Saran. He
went on to be the sous chef at Michelin star acclaimed Devi restaurant in New York City and continues
to partner with them for special events. He has had an active role within Sodexo Inc. where he was the
national culinary director for a prestigious client organization, engaged in managing total quality culinary
and marketing and responsible for the organization and execution of high profile events
Aatul’s eye for detail and passion for excellence has made him an accomplished chef, consultant, and
entrepreneur. Chef Aatul’s passion is not just for food, but for sharing it with those in need. He has
joined Children’s International in their global outreach where they support other nonprofit organizations
engaged in improving the lives of children and their families. Chef Aatul Jain is also a strong supporter of
the James Beard Foundation and volunteers with chefs at events in Beard's legendary historic home in
New York City.
